It's Monday, I'm home. and I'm bored
So I'm home. Reading online stuff that I haven't read in a while, and just generally chillin' in my room, waiting for Josue to get off work so we can grab some food before heading out to the prayer meeting.
I'm smiling.
This weekend has been awesome. First going to Mosaic and hanging out with my friends watching Smallville til 3am(Rafa and Paul are way awesome guys who definitely know how to sneak around my house late at night), and then sleeping in, waking up late on Sunday, and on the spur of the moment heading down to Fredricksburg to visit Lauren.(who is, by the way, completely cool and totally awesome. Plus shes got a cute dog named Bella who I fell in love with. Careful Laruen, I might try to steal her from ya!)
If I had to sum the trip up in 2 words-Amazing time. It has seriously been such a long time since I've just been able to kick back, not worry about time or money or parents or strangers or snakes(long story!) or work and just go out and enjoy myself in a new place. I've spent so much time in Manassas that it's become boring. I needed to expand my horizons, and Fredricksburg fit the bill(I mean.. it is on the horizon–depending on where you're standing on how you're looking at it, LOL!)
I went hiking along the Rappahannock river. I haven't been hiking since my boyscouting days–that was like, 10 years ago. I worried about snakes(grr how i hate them) for a little while, but eventually just stopped on a big rock right on the edge of the water and relaxed. It's so pretty there. Watching the water hit the rocks, the trees blowing in the breeze. Very peaceful. I can definitely see myself going back, and just sitting in that spot for hours, just enjoying nature. Ofcourse, Lauren and I had her dog Bella with us, who is scared of the water, so that added a wee bit of fun and 'ohmy whatever will happen if she gets wet' mystery to it all.
Ofcourse after that it was time to eat(yes, please.. no comment about how exercise makes me hungry!) and on a whim we drove down to Richmond(which I've never been to) and ate at Nacho Mama's. It's supposed to be the best Mexican food ever. And I have to admit, so far I haven't tasted mexican food better than that.
I got mini tours of both Richmond(did you know theres a beach smack dab in the middle of the city where you can look up and see god-only-knows how many stars? Soo beautiful!) and Fredricksburg(major college city, but old town is so much cooler than Manassas) and in the process listened to and sang so many songs that I hadn't heard in a long time, as well as listened to a few cool artists who I had never heard of, but were also pretty cool.
I had planned on being able to see a movie while I was down there(we all know how I am about movies!), but that didn't happen. What did happen was lots and lots of conversation. Yay! We all know how much I love to talk. and talk. and talk some more. LOL.
Seriously though. Conversation rocked. The whole trip rocked. I am definitely looking forward to going back down.
So anyways: that was my weekend. I'm supposed to do 6 hours of OT tomorrow for work. Chances are I'll end up forcing myself to stay and do more, just incase they were mad at me for calling out sick on Friday and Saturday and then not showing up for my OT on Sunday(please, no comment about how irresponsible I am, ok?) So this week is going to be really really long. But at least it's payweek for me. Yay for money!
